COGNITIVE BEHAVIOURAL THERAPY

Change your thoughts and behaviours

Change the way you Think Feel Behave

Change your life and take control to empower yourself

Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) is an umbrella term for a type of talking therapy that works for all types of problems and it aims to understand an individual’s patterns and change them through new practices and to help you deal with overwhelming problems in a more positive way by breaking them down into smaller parts.

At the base of it, you and I will learn together how your feelings, thoughts, and behaviours affect you and keep you stuck in unnecessary, upsetting, or harmful cycles.

As the name implies, this involves a cognitive element, which looks at assumptions and how you think, and a behavioural element, which involves intentionally practicing new reactions.

CBT focuses on the present rather than your past. Although we may look at this briefly to help me to understand how you “work” as person so that together we can look at changing those unhelpful learnt behaviours or thoughts.

I work with individuals from age 14 upwards (although if its OCD I will see younger clients), with a wide range of issues including OCD, anxiety, depression, trauma, relationship difficulty, sex and addictions and many other conditions and illnesses, with the aim of enabling you look at any dysfunctional thoughts and behaviours and help to enhance your life and to live it more fully.

CBT can help with...

...and many other life challenges.
